It is based on the authors’ competency model which focuses on needs analysis as a staple element of a course
and reveals the needs of all key stakeholders.
The course aims at English teachers who would like to upskill their competencies in course design. Based on the competency model developed by the authors, it prioritizes thorough needs analysis, addressing the requirements of all stakeholders involved. Additionally, the course provides instruction on creating a digital learning environment following the ergonomics standards. It also covers the production of media materials and practical application of AI-powered tools to improve the design process.

Associate Professor at the Department of Modern Languages and Communication, NUST ‘MISIS’. She is the head of the Master’s Program
in Second Language Teaching and Pedagogical Design in Digital Environments. She is responsible for academic support which involves curriculum design and syllabus development, digital environment management and teacher professional development. Currently, she supervises dissertations on teacher professional development and competence-based approach to university linguistic training. She is a PhD
in Education and also holds the CELTA certificate. Her professional interests lie in online learning and teaching, course design and teaching competences.
Associate professor at the Department of Modern Languages and Communication. She holds a degree in linguistics and project management
in the digital learning environment of a university, and a PhD in pedagogy. Olesya has designed ICT curriculum and created a number of accompanying courses on the platforms Canvas and Moodle. Her research interests focus on advancing digital learning environments, incorporating augmented and extended reality, enhancing ergonomics in educational settings, and analysing educational digital footprints.
The working language of the course is Russian but all the provided materials are English-mediated
